Term 5 Newsletter
Term 5 Week 4
The children have had a very busy week doing lots of activities and learning all about bees. Can the children tell you some information about bees?
We started our "rolling snack" this week, giving the children the option to have a slice of toast with their fruit, this is to encourage the children to be more independent and help with fine motor skills to use a knife to spread on their toast.
The children enjoyed playing outside all week with various weather conditions, helping with planting and watching our beans grow.
We've had a birthday this week and enjoyed a birthday snack to celebrate! Have you had any celebrations recently? If you would like to share any home events please email me so we can share them in the Nursery together. email@example.com
Have a lovely weekend!
Mrs Hill & Mrs Buttfield
Term 5 week 3
Welcome to Mrs Buttfield who has been helping in the Nursery this week! Thank you to those who have shared some of your exciting events at home with us.
This week we have been learning all about growing sunflowers. We have planted the seeds and talked about what they will need to grow. We have spent plenty of time talking about the life cycle of a plant as well as exploring in the garden area. We found a snail and looked after him all afternoon! We have been trying our best with our name writing and getting our fingers stronger. We have been counting forwards and backwards and getting a better understanding of numbers and their amounts.
We used the instruments to create loud and quiet sounds and started identifying initial sounds in words.
Well done Little Sunbeams!
Term 5 week 2
The Little Sunbeams have been so helpful this week in the garden area! Planting beans, watering them and digging up the soil, ready for planting sunflowers next week. We have been doing lots of counting activities and some of us practicing writing our names!
If the children have been doing any planting at home or have something growing in the garden then please email Mrs Hill with some pictures so that we can share them in the Nursery as a group. If you have had any big events recently or any exciting days out that the children would like to share with their friends, please do send in some photos as we would love to hear about it!
If you have had any forms to fill in, please could they be returned. If you have not received a from, please let us know and we will get one ready for you when you collect your child. Thank you. Have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!
Welcome back to Term 5! Our topic this term is all about growing and this week we have been learning all about vegetables. We have looked at the story "Oliver's vegetables" and enjoyed activities around the story. The children have been enjoying the new role play area which is a garden centre and fruit and vegetable shop. The children enjoyed potato printing, talking about their favourite vegetables and making their own fruit and vegetables with the play dough! Have a lovely Weekend!
